Over the weekend of Friday the 13th to Sunday 15th July, 17 brave souls made, what is now becoming a traditional summer trip to the Welsh White Water centre Canolfan Tryweryn. At least 10 runs of the river were completed over the weekend – culminating in a final ‘Blue Angel’ (hell for leather dash) by the club in a near perfect (thanks Keith :-( ) run of 4 minutes and 50 seconds.

There were a few swims, many rolls – but overall the trip was pretty much incident free and a great success. Thanks go out to the more experienced paddlers for keeping an eye out for the less experienced – but as they will admit themselves – Lir’s skill level this year was vastly imrpoved and they were able to relax and enjoy the river themselves.

A couple more photos here of Lir members doing their stuff. Its good to see that Lir are an all season Kayak club.
